Wash India Off

Each day, multiple times a day, Scott and I “wash India off.” Scott first said this phrase back in Calcutta referring to how every time we wash our hands with soap, there’s obvious brown residue that comes off as we lather and scrub. The act of washing our hands causes the sink basin to get splattered with brown, the soap itself becomes dirty. And I always wonder, if my hands are this dirty after just a few hours in India, how about my face, my clothes, my body.
