From reporting in Wrangell to teaching in Tanzania and Bhutan to, now, transitioning to life in the capital city of Juneau – some words on a life in flux.

Today in Wrangell

Here are some images of the day.

Yesterday a Wrangell resident was in this crane transporting a piling (that long piece of wood) when the wind caught the piling and caused the crane to collapse into the water (the extremely cold Alaskan water) – with the person still in it. Luckily, he was able to escape with just a broken leg. I say ‘just’ because apparently similar incidents have occurred and the person died.

On a happier note, the pictures below are of the first and second graders caroling around town. They always carol near the tree while the Light and Power crew are decorating with ornaments made by the students. I love this event. The kids then go to Wells Fargo, city hall, Bobs’, and I’m not sure where else. Along the way, they acquire many candy canes.
